Meet Information
We would like to invite you to the 16th Annual Warrior Cross Country Invitational at Matchett Park in Grand Junction on Saturday, August 24th, 2019. We will be competing at the Matchett Park course location again this year in the spirit of providing athletes a true Cross Country environment that should be a fun and exciting experience for all.
Course: The course will be run on the Trails at Matchett Park which will consist of 100% dirt trail conditions.
Tentative Schedule of Events:
7:00-7:45am - Packet Pick-up
8:00am - Boys Combined Race (VAR & JV)
8:10am - Girls Combined Race (VAR & JV)
8:45am - Open Race (Community, Coaches & Middle School)
9:45am - Awards
Open Course Record = 19:12
Varsity Boys - Course Record = 15:53 / Varsity Girls - Course Record = 18:13
JV Boys - Course Record = 18:12 / JV Girls - Course Record = 23:17
Scoring/Awards: Varsity Boys and Girls races will be limited to a maximum of 7 runners per team with top 5 scoring and top 7 displacing for scoring purposes. Boys and Girls JV will be scored after removing the top 7 runners from each team. Awards will be given to 1st place Varsity teams and top 10 varsity and JV runners. The Middle School/Coaches Open Race is free to all team coaches and is open to all others at a cost of $10 per runner.
Fees: $150 per school (covers both Boys & Girls Varsity and JV Races with unlimited entries) / $10 per athlete for smaller schools. We do plan on limiting this to a maximum of 15 teams so please confirm your plans to attend ASAP. If we have more than 15 teams we will consider running seeded races to accommodate.
